Billy Blackwell was unable to attend so Ron Fairbanks performed
the President’s functions. Meeting called to order at 6:30 pm with 21 members in attendance
along with 2 proposed members Steve Graham and Jim Bell. OLD BUSINESS Ron F. reviewed with membership that Dave Dyess was resigning from the club due to health
reasons and is leaving in good standings. This opened 1 spot which allowed both proposed
members to be voted in. Started meeting by voting on Steve Graham and Jim Bell –
Both voted in and welcomed to the club.
Ron reviewed that club membership at this time is full
at 25 active members and was confirmed by Treasurer and Tournament
Director. Reviewed $10 raffle meetings - March,
June, Sept and Dec. NEW BUSINESS Wayne T. told club he had $50 Kistler
Rod VIP coupons towards the purchase of certain rods at Kistler.com
site. Wayne also has 3 Lamiglass
rods he will sell at 50% off with $5 going to the club on each
rod. Wayne also reviewed that he has a connection for some heavy
duty trolling motor cables through Clint Wilson and will try to
have him or a sample at the next meeting. Ron Fairbanks asked members if they had any fund raising
ideas and after a brief discussion, it was determined that the
club wished to continue on with the rafflle
as we have done in prior years.
Fred again agreed to get the room and Billy should still
have tickets. No other
ideas were surfaced on fund raising ideas. The Raffle was held and won by Ken Repine with $45 going
to the club. TOURNAMENT REPORT Mack reviewed in detail the rooming rules to the membership
and new members alike. Mack reviewed the current status of the Tensaw River and
the forecast that water levels will be above the parking lot making
the tournament dangerous and potentially un-navigable. Do to this, Mack reviewed a few options and
the club voted by a margin of 11 to 5 to change the tournament
location to Fish River at the Highway 98 bridge. Due to the location change being voted on after
the membership paid the entry fees, Mack decided that those not
wishing to fish due to the change could withdraw without losing
tournament fees paid. The
club agreed that those who wished to not complete in the tournament
at the new Fish River location would be allowed to roll their
entry fee to the March tournament. There were only 2 members who wished to not
fish and the Treasurer decided it was easier to account for the
change if he returned the entry fees to the members wishing not
to fish. Meeting adjourned at 7:14pm. Sincerely, Ron Fairbanks Club Secretary. Meeting: Location: Fournaris Bros. March
