Hi, my name
is Cliff “ black cloud “ Armstrong. I fishing
season wouldn’t be complete without my name being added to the list
of hammer award nominees. The following is the circumstances surrounding
my latest nomination for this wonderful award. I had fished all
day on Tensaw Rover and had nothing to show for it. I tied my boat
to the dock and proceeded to get my truck and trailer to load my
boat. I pulled down to the launch ramp and pulled forward to align
my trailer so I could back it into the water. I pulled forward to
get my trailer aligned properly before back the trailer into the
water. I knew there was a concrete curb block right at the wall
at the top of the ramp. I hadn’t noticed the spike at the edge of
this block. I was slightly to the right of this block and as I inched
forward I heard that distinctive sound of a tire blowing out I stopped
and got out of my truck and went to look and sure enough that spike
had pierced my left front tire. Obviously the tire would have to
be changed before pulling my boat out of the water so I backed up
enough to allow me to make the turn and drove back to the parking
space I had been in ( the last one from the launch ramp. I then, with the assistance
of Chris Malena, got the tire changed
while the weigh in was going on. Chris then pulled my truck around
and put the trailer into the water allowing me to drive my boat
on to the trailer. Once this was done I secured my boat (
straps, motor totter, etc. ) and was able to drive home from
the tournament. Those that know me know the nick name “ Black Cloud
“ fits me quite well. |
