Hello,my name is Mack Cramer. I have been nominated for the " Hammer Award " for the following reason: My partner ( Ken Repine ) and i had worked hard all morning and managed 2 fish each. Each of us had missed 1 or 2 also. We were trying to decide what to do next. We could remain in the general area of where we had caught fish or make the run to fish pond drain and look for beds. My partner suggested that we stay where we were. I chose to make the run. I located Sarg ( Frank Bost ) and he decided to follow me since he was unfamiliar with how to get there. We make the run and were cruising along in the channel when I hit something believed to be a stump. I shut down to access any damage which I felt must have occurred due to the vibration from the engine. Just as I did so Sarg also hit the same object. Sarg joined me at a nearby dock to futher inspect any damage. The prop was severely bent and the shaft appeared to be also. Fortunately sarg hadn't sustained any damage. Sarg then towed me back to Seminole launch. The one good point ( if you can consider it good in light of the damage was that we got excellent gas efficiency during this tow back. Of course Sarg's fuel efficiency went way, way down. Perhaps in hind sight I should have listened to my partner's and stayed where I was.
