Hello, my name is Ron “ stump grinder “ Fairbanks. I have been nominated for the the club’s prestigious hammer award. The following details describe the circumstances surrounding my nomination. I was cruising up the mighty Escambia River in search of spots that might hold fish. I was smoothly gliding through the twists and turns of the river when without warning my boat became slightly airborne and after landing I came to an abrupt hault. Apparently I failed to notice the what angler’s call a floater or perhaps a submerged stump. I collected myself in a few minutes to check for any damage ( other than my ego ) and found everything to be reasonably intact. I did however feel that perhaps I might call Tony Boyett to see if he might know of a nearby portable station to clean up. Tony, however was not available so I had to tend to matters myself. I then continued on my way to attempt to locate those elusive Bass.
