September

We managed to squeeze in a trip to Apalachicola River, between hurricanes.  Of course the water was high and pretty stained although it has been receding.  Most all of the 20 members who fished went down Friday morning, and most found fish. Big Rich found a 61/2 pounder.   Mister ‘share information’, Richie volunteered to take Steve and show him how when he came up empty (even if he didn’t give him all of stumps info).

Bay City Camp is an excellent facility, and welcomed our business. The cabins were clean and provided all we need.  With a full time maintenance man any little problem could be resolved easily.

We all arrived safely, without incident.  Fishing Saturday was spotty at best.  Walter and I had found some fish Friday and started back to our spot.  We ran into some traffic problems with Steve M at blast off but avoided a collision; we were both paying attention to the other.  Sorry about that. Upon arriving at our spot I picked up a 2 pounder right off the bat with a buzz bait…that was the only bite there.  We moved to spot 2 and found Tony, Rich and Wayne all fishing there.  We moved on up and managed a couple more.  John B was struggling on the main river.  At weigh in there were several long faces and a few who had decent days.  Big Rich had a good one Friday…Lee finished 3rd with 7 fish weighing 10.3 pounds, Ron moved up on Sunday to 2nd  with 8 weighing 12.02 and Richie moved out of his slump to take 1st and big fish of 6.17 with 10 weighing 22.4.  Good catch Richie, I hope Stump got his share.

Next month is our fish off at Wheeler in North Alabama.  This is a long trip, be sure to check out all of your equipment:  batteries, bearings, lights etc.  I hear you better have some light line, especially if you want to catch smallies.
