I’d rather be fishing!…………..NOT!!!

Panhandle Bass club did not pick the best weekend. With 20+MPH winds, falling temps, high muddy water catching fish definitely was a struggle.

Problems seemed to be the order of the day, beginning with 3-4foot rollers on the river; those going south were in for a ride.  (Right Billy?!)  Yes Billy speared a wave and donated his electronics, Sarge tried to fill his boat with a wash over, Walter just gave up on going south.  John B managed to get to his hole only to find it GONE!!  A new development had gone in and cleared the creek to build docks.  Ron Fairbanks burned out his batteries putting a limit in the boat and missed the weigh in, D Q.  President Wayne bailed out and went home.

There were some fish caught.  Reports were that they were all up north.  Some of the creeks had cleared water.  Ron had a good limit of quality fish from Fosters, too bad he had trouble and was D Qed.  Sarge stayed at Ellis to pull out the “Boo ray” fish 5.56 lbs. on Saturday and take third place with 4 fish 10.77 lbs.  John B took big fish Sunday and 2nd place with 6 @ 10.94 lbs. And Tony hit the mark with 9 fish @ 11.50 all from up north on jerk baits and spinners.

Not what we want, especially on a 2 day tournament, but all made it home safely in spite of the problems and hazardous conditions on the water.

Keep your line wet!!
