Located in Athens Alabama, Wheeler is below Lake Wilson and Pick Wick. Wheeler sits between 2 damns and is fed by the Tennessee River. Wheeler feeds into Lake Guntersville. Spots, smallmouth, and large mouths are available. The system has not been affected by the lack of rain. In Oct it will be at summer pool level. It is 60 miles between the 2 damns. There is no size limits on any of the 3 species.

Bay Hill Marina located on the lake about 8 miles from Athens Alabama.

The Marina offers the following

1. Restaurant serving Breakfast/Lunch/ and Supper. However breakfast opens at 8 am. The restaurant closes at 9pm.

2. Store: offers drinks ice and snacks. However opens at 7 am.

3. Covered slips with electricity. No charge for guest of the Marina.

4. Cabins Sleeps 2 are 79.00 per night (39.50 per person) plus tax. All cabins have full kitchen, Cable Television. Are in Walking distance to the covered slips

5. Condos Sleeps 2 are 119.00 per night (59.95 per person) plus tax. All condos have full kitchen/ Cable TV Balcony that over looks the lake and is in walking distance of the slips

To the Marina it is approximately 360 miles/ counting fuel stops and one stop for meal it is approximately 7 hour drive

Tentative Cost:

Fuel for vehicle based on 15 MPG round trip plus 60 miles for out and about 780 miles=52 gallons fuel at 3.00 = 156.00

Cabins 79.00 per night times 4 nights = 316.00 plus tax comes to 158.00 per person plus tax for a condo ad another 160.00 (80.00).

Tentatively you’re looking at 314.00 less 100.00 travel fund (214.00) plus food snacks and tackle store stops.
