Minutes of the Meeting:

The January 2008 (Third tournament of the 2007/08 fishing season) meeting of the PANHANDLE BASS CLUB was brought to order at 6:30 p.m. on January 2nd, 2008. The meeting was held at Geno’s Pizza on Davis Hwy. and was presided over by our President, Wayne Thomley. There were 22 members present .

Old Business:  It was brought up again about our need to come up with ideas for Fund Raising efforts. It was noted that for Members in good standing with the Club that we should get the word out about fishing with us..

The 50/50 this month went to Rich Hardy.

New Business: ***

Due to circumstances beyond his control, Donnie Wigen tendered his resignation as tournament director, as well as his club membership. He is effective the 2^nd day of January 2008, moved from active member to former member in good standing. President Wayne Thomley, according to our constitution ,called for a special election to fill the vacated position of tournament director. Chris Maleno was elected to this position. Rich Hardy was elected to fill the position of assistant tournament director

Both Steve Graham and Frank ( Sarg ) Bost were thrown into the completion for our club’s most prestigious award!

January Tournament:

The third tournament of the new year was on Escambia River out of Smith’s Landing, we had 21 boats for the tournament. The weather was just a bit cold at first light but warmed up as the day progressed,  just a beautiful day. Typical Escambia  frustration.

Went to John Kasic at 2.03 lb and who also finished first with 5  fish weighing6.55 lbs. . Rich Cornelius finished second with 3 fish weighing 3.14 lbs, and Rich Hardy rounded out the top three with 2 fish at 3.05. Good job guys, especially considering that only 9 0f the 22 members who fished actually weighed in even 1 fish.!!!!!!!!!!!!!
