The August 2008 meeting
of the PANHANDLE BASS CLUB was brought to order at 6:30 p.m. on August 6th,
2008. The meeting was held at Founaris Brothers
and was presided over by our President, Wayne Thomley. There were 20 members
present .

Old Business: Just a reminder about The Club’s banquet will be on Nov. 1st
at the Angus. And the Raffle ticket sells went over great.
The 50/50 this month went to Chris Malena.
New Business:
The
winner of the $1000 raffle drawing was Matt Hartley of Navarre and the ticket
was sold by Frank Kelly. New Club officers are to be nominated in September
with the vote in October. Additionally submissions for changes in the Constitution,
Tournament rules, and Fish Off rules needs to be submitted IN WRITING by the
September meeting. Discussion of these proposals will be done at the September’s
meeting and the vote ( ONLY ) in the October meeting.

August Tournament:
The August tournament was held at Holley Creek on the Alabama
River. We had 18 boats for the tournament. The weather was pretty decent
but hot and the river was low. Most of us caught fish but some struggled.
Big Fish winner of the tournament
Went to John Buck with a nice fish at 4.61 lb.
First place also went to John Buck with 3 fish weighing 6.92. Tony
Boyett finished second with 4 fish weighing 6.17, and Rich Hardy finished third with 6 fish at 5.58 lbs.
