September Tournament:

Lay Lake

We launched out of the lower dam landing, there were approximately 7 other tournaments going on out of different locations, lots of boat traffic. The weather was good, just a little warm up in the day.

Most of the club was there on Friday to pre-fish, the top water bite was not to be found, even the shaky head bite was off. Day one of the tournament proved to be tough for most , but a few of the guys managed to get their limits.

Billy Blackwell had the lead after day one and big fish for the day.

Day two was even tougher, only one limit was caught, and again, it was Billy, I guess the keychain skunk is now his lucky charm.

Billy also had big fish on day two and was almost a boo-ray fish, it weighed in at 4.67 lbs. Billy dominated the tournament with a total of 27.92 lbs. Second place went to Wayne Thomley with a total of 15.78 lbs, and third place went to Rich Renner with a total of14.98 lbs. The crank bait was the key ingredient for the early morning bite.
