"Fred's Club Report" 2007 Season |
|
|
Panhandle Bass Club fished the Tensaw Delta out of Cliffs landing to kick off the 2007-fishing season. There were 17 boats including 2 returning members, Steve Graham and Cliff Armstrong. Welcome back guys!
The morning was cool and breezy with a North wind making the water a little skinny, especially on the lower end of the delta. The bite was tough with 5 ‘also fished’ members. As usual there were some who found what it takes. Mack Cramer found fish south on U-tail worms and finished with a limit of 10.62 pounds to take first place. Mitch Gardner had 6 for 8.59, and Wayne Thomley worked a crankbait to put his limit in the boat at 8.05 pounds and finish third. Big fish went to Steve Graham 3.22 pounds.
The good news is no one found any trouble; even Frank Kelly started the year without problems. Good job guys, ‘Hammer’ nominees will come soon enough I am sure.
Next month we go to Millers Ferry. That could be a great tournament if the weather will cooperate.
Keep your line wet!
