Minutes of the Meeting:

The August 2007 meeting of the Panhandle Bass Club was brought to order at 6:30 p.m. on August 1, 2007. The meeting was held at the Founaris Brothers on Hwy 29 and was presided over by President Fred Raby. There were 21 members present.

Old Business: The 50/50 draw was won by Rich Cornelius this month. Several items were auctioned off, nothing was left over to be had. Good job to those who brought the items in, every little bit helps.

September is the month for submitting rule change proposals,

If you have a proposal you would like to submit, it must be in writing. All proposals submitted will be discussed, in October, they will be voted on only, no discussion.

Also, the club will be taking nominations for E-Board positions,

All positions will be open for nominee’s.

“Note”, remember that the 50/50 next month will be a $20.00 buy-in

for the raffle, the winner will get half of what is taken in, if all members were to buy in, you will have a 1 in 23 chance of winning

$230.00, not bad odds. Don’t forget, it will help out our travel fund considerably and it comes back to those who qualify for the fish-off.

New Business:

We currently have two nominations for our club banquet, The “Cock of the walk” and the “Angus”, the date will be Nov 17^th. We are waiting to get prices and a menu selection from the Cock of the walk, further discussion will be held at the September meeting.

The Host for this years banquet will be Mack Cramer, Tony Boyett and John Kasic will be assisting.

The club decided to keep our website Domain for another 5 years.

The club will have a comp room next month at Lay Lake, it will be raffled off, so take a chance for free lodging.

August Tournament:

This month’s tournament was held out of Holley Creek landing on the Alabama River, the conditions were tough, temp in the 90’s, low water and a very tough bite, and it proved to be true. We had 21 members fishing along with some guests, no limits were caught, nine members came up empty, and only Arty Dreadin on the guest side had fish to weigh in, good job Arty.

Wayne Thomley, in the money again, took first with 3 fish weighing 6.21 lbs, Rich Cornelius took second with 5 fish for 5.62 lbs,

And big Rich Hardy finished third with 2 fish for 4.71 lbs, and he had big fish for 3.41 lbs. Good job.
