Minutes of the Meeting:

The September 2006 meeting of the Panhandle Bass Club was brought to order at 6:30 p.m. on September 6, 2006. The meeting was held at the Founaris Brothers on Hwy 29 and was presided over by  President Fred Raby.  There were 16 members present.

Old Business: John Lightsey won the 50/50 draw this month, way to go John.

Walter brought in a box full of assorted plastics and hard baits,

Proceeds went to the club. The club appreciates what you do Walter.

We all need to share fish’n tips, you don’t have to be precise on the details, but saying your fishing a buzz bait on isolated structure will be fine, people still have to figure  out things like size of the bait, color, does it clack or not, things like that.

New Business:  Our room reservations for St. Johns has been made, once again , we appreciate all that you do for the club Mack, contact Mack if anyone has any questions.

*** Proposed rule changes for the 2007 season were read, discussed and clarified at the September meeting, there was only two, by Fred Raby, there  will be no discussion at the October meeting.Proposed change(click here )

It will be read and voted on only.

Remember, the October meeting will be held on a Tuesday, which is October 3rd.

     The E-Board submitted a $5.00 increase in tournament fee’s effective the first tournament of the 2007 season, this money will be “Ear marked” for the Travel fund, it was put to a vote and unanimously passed.

*** If you would like to submit a package in writing for next years Fish-off, you may do so, please have all the pertinent information available in your package, (i.e.; lodging, distance, ramp site, room costs etc, etc.)

All nominations will be voted on at the December meeting.***

***CLUB BANQUET***

Our Banquet is scheduled for December 16th, at Mesquite Charlie’s, starting time of 7p.m.

It will be a menu order, pay your own way scenario. The Banquets are always a lot of fun, so please be there if you can.

September Tournament:

   Apalachicola River       

     The Boo-Ray pot lives on, even though there was several fish over 5lbs caught on Friday.

Maybe next month?

We had 14 members and 3 guests going at it for this tournament, the river was low and lightly stained, some fished the Chipola river and some concentrated on the Apalachicola. The bite was somewhat tough, but everyone caught fish, most came from texas rigged plastics and a few crank bait bites, and very few top water bites. There were 11 limits caught in the two days, Big fish on day one went to John Kasic, 3.61 lbs.

Day two went to Rich Cornelius with  3.26 pounder. John Kasic won the tournament with ten fish, a total weight of 19.64.

Rich Cornelius finished second with 10 fish, a total of 16.19.

And third place went to Walter McCartney, 10 fish weighing 15.28.

There was a total of 92 fish caught, with a total weight of 137.37 lbs.
