If anyone would like to start a boo-ray big fish pot, feel free to do so, you make the rules.
The following sites for the 2005 Fish-off have been proposed:
Delicroix, La
Guntersville Lake, Al
Apalachicola River, End of the Rd
Lay Lake, Lower Dam
Apalachicola, Sippio Creek
These sites will be voted on at the December meeting. Try to make the meeting if at all possible.
Walter McCartney mentioned Dewayne Kimbro as a prospective member.
It is the responsibility of the sponsors to inform their prospective members all that is involved with joining the Panhandle Bass Club. ( shirt/hat fees, club dues, entry fees, all is due at the time of becoming a member. )
There was no other old business discussed.
NEW BUSINESS:
For the up-coming season, all room reservations will be handled by our club treasurer ( Mack Cramer ), this covers the two-day tournaments and the one-day tournaments that are out of town in which someone may want to go up on a Friday. So there is no need for anyone to make their own reservations.
All tournament monies will be paid at the following meeting; the only exception is the draw for the golf ball.
The 2004 season Banquet will be held at Mack and Sandra Cramers residence. They have graciously opened up their home to the club once again. Thank you both.
Last years banquet at the Cramer's went very well and everyone enjoyed it. At the next meeting, Mack will need a head count of all who will attend. If you would like to bring a desert dish, please do so. This banquet will be catered, probably by Smokey's, that means very little clean-up for us, it's a good thing.
Fred Raby is working on getting a club jacket, to be awarded to the "Fisherman of the year" instead of a trophy. Second and Third place will receive trophy's for their awards. More info will be put out at the next meeting on this subject. No other new business was discussed.
October Tournament:
The November tournament was held on the Ten Saw River out of Cliff's landing. We Had 16 members present to fish and two guests as prospective members. The temp started off in the 40's warming to the low 70's by mid afternoon. It was a very comfortable day with blue bird skies. The rivers were on the rise and muddy, some creeks had clear water but as it turned out, the fish catching part of the tournament did not fair very well. Only 29 fish were caught with 16 members fishing. Larry Foshee whooped up on everyone with a limit of fish weighing in at 12.89 lbs, and also had big fish weighing in at 2.96 lbs. Frank Kelly took second with 5 fish weighing 5.63 lbs and Mack Cramer finished third with 4 fish for 3.77 lbs. Good job guys.
