OLD BUSINESS:
The 50/50 draw went to Frank Kelly this month, you had to get lucky sometime Frank. Wayne Thomley brought in a very nice leatherman tool to be auctioned off, it was acquired by Walter McCartney.
Be sure and bring in your "Raffle" tickets at the next meeting if they have been sold already, see Billy if you need more tickets. The drawing will be in May.
Fred Raby is still working on the Lowrance seminar, he will let us know as soon as possible about any information that comes to light.
NEW BUSINESS:
Walter McCartney asked if the club would be interested in learning CPR, which would be taught by Tamara McCartney at a later date and time, the majority of the club showed an interest.
Walter will pass out sign up sheets at the next meeting.
CPR training is very important, and it is something we all should know.
Mack will be checking on the lodging at Lake Guntersville, hopefully the cabins or the lodge will be available.
No other new business was discussed.
March Tournament:
The March tournament was held out of Wind Creek state park, at Lake Martin. The lake was about six feet low, the water was stained on the north end and light stained to clear on the south end. With water temps ranging from 48 to 52 in most places, and strong winds from every direction, it made for a tough tournament.
Day two conditions were better but much cooler.
Shaky heads, spot removers and Carolina rigs worked the best.
Finesse worms and centipedes and baby brush hogs were the bait of choice.
Only two limits were caught on day one, none on day two. Billy Blackwell had big fish for day one and the boo-ray.
A nice 5.31 lb largemouth. John Buck had big fish on day two, it weighed in at 3.06 lbs.
Good job guys.
John Kasic won the tournament with a two day total of 9 fish weighing in at 14.88 lbs.
A first timer on the lake had to be beginners luck. Great job John.
