We had our make up tournament, thanks to Hurricane Dennis Saturday, August 13, 2005. The high water had crested at Careyville on Monday so our hopes were high that we would have a decent water level and a good tournament.

Unfortunately the high water at Ebro did not start to fall until Friday so there was still a lot of flooding. Most boats went north initially, some even trying to run past the high water. My partner and I went south to Black Creek where we found some short fish, but pretty good water to fish. I boated three short fish all on worms from lilly pads and that was it!

We weighed in at 2:00 p m and found two members had packed up and gone home early. The bags of fish at the weigh in were scarce to say the least. Rich Renner had 1 a whopping .82 lb., Mack squeezed 3rd place with a .88 monster, Rich Cornelius had 2nd with 2 weighing 2.80 lb and Wayne Thomley took 1st honors with 5.77 lbs including a huge lunker at 1.89lbs. Most fish were caught on crankbaits. There were no major problems, Frank Boast did enter the hammer race with a broken windshield, thanks to the high water.

Keep Your Line Wet!!
