OLD BUSINESS:
"Raffle tickets"are due at the May meeting, please don't forget them or you will be asked to go back and get them.
John Kasic won the 50/50 drawing this month. There was nothing to be auctioned off at the meeting.
No other old business was discussed.
NEW BUSINESS:
Just a reminder to all members, we all need to help each other out when launching and recovering at the tournaments, especially when there are other tournaments going on, it will help prevent delays at each occurrence.
*****
Our April tournament site, Demopolis, was changed to Lake Martin due to fast rising floodwaters, and the possibility of the ramps being closed at any time.
This was decided by way of the E-Board and a majority vote of those present to fish the tournament.
*****
As it turned out, we all made a good choice, lots of fish were caught and floodwaters were not an issue.
No other new business was discussed.
April Tournament:
After deciding to change the tournament site the night before, we all arrived safe and sound at Wind Creek Saturday morning and launched our boats, we blasted off fairly quick to get away from a larger tournament being held . The Wind Creek area was stained with water temps in the 60's, the lower end was a lot clearer as usual.
Day one presented us with great weather and a good day of fishing. At the weigh-in, Mack Cramer had the big fish of the day, a stud that weighed 6.92 lbs, and 6 others to go with it to give him a total of 16.19 lbs. Rich Cornelius also had a limit that slightly edged out Mack's catch with a weight of 16.90 lbs. Lee Brannon's limit of 11.04 lbs put him in third after day one. Day two was very much like day one weather wise, and the fish were still biting, at the weigh-in, Billy Blackwell made a huge jump from tenth to third overall, he had a day two limit that weighed 15.54 lbs. Good job Billy, but Wayne said he wanted his bait back. Rich Cornelius had big fish on day two that weighed 4.48, barely edging out Mack Cramer's 4.43.
Top water baits, Carolina rigs, and shaky heads were the baits of choice for most.
" We have two new Hammer Award nominee's", Cliff Armstrong for running down lake to his first stop and then realizing he had forgot to put his tackle in his boat on day one of the tournament, and also, Mack Cramer, at day two weigh-in, thinking he had a 7 fish limit but only had 6 in the boat, which most likely cost him first place in the tournament. Congratulations on making the nominee list guys.
