OLD BUSINESS:
The club would like to thank all of those who participated in the memorial tournament held for Wally Cassiano. Many stories were told in remembrance of Wally, he will never be forgotten.
There was no other old business discussed.
NEW BUSINESS:
Dave Rogers was our guest at this months meeting, he is sponsored by Rich Cornelius.
Dave fished his guest tournament with Larry Foshee.
Billy Blackwell acquired Raffle Tickets for the club, the winning ticket will receive $200.00 in cash or $200.00 worth of gasoline, their choice. We all need to sell them as soon as possible, so don't forget.
The 50/50 draw was won by Fred Raby this month, congratulations Fred. Frank Bost brought in a fish carved out of wood, a saltwater specie I believe, it was auctioned off and obtained by Chris Malena.
"Just a reminder", The month's of July and August have a 2 p.m. weigh-in.
June Tournament:
The June tournament was held at the Tensaw River out of Hubbard's Landing. There were 16 members and 5 guests present to fish at safe day light. The tide was incoming all day, we had partly cloudy skies in the morning changing to mostly sunny the rest of the day. The water was stained to muddy in most places. Some of the guys went to the grass for some clear water and hopefully a good top water bite, but the word was that the fish were short striking mostly. Others fished the main river and some creeks with lay downs and treetops. At the weigh-in, only Larry and Rich were fortunate enough to have caught their limit.
Crank baits worked the best in the shallow diving series. Larry had the big fish of the day which weighed in at 4.84 lbs and he also took 1st place with a total of 12.74 lbs. Rich finished 2nd with 11.08 and Tony Boyett had 6 fish that took 3rd place with 9.40 lbs. The 5lb Boo ray pot still lives another day.
