Sptember Tournament:

There were 14 boats ready for take off at safe daylight the first day, most of the guys fished the Warrior river and a few headed up the Tombigbee. The Warrior was much clearer than the Tombigbee but a lot of fish were caught on both. The problem was catching one that was 14" in length. It seemed more largemouth were caught on the Warrior side. Worms, brush-hogs and crank baits were the baits of choice for most, no top water action was mentioned.
Just before weigh in, a storm blew in and everyone got soaked to the bone,
one of these days maybe we will get lucky and avoid the rain.
Day two was a carbon copy of day one except for getting soaked, the same game plan for most everyone was followed, again, catching a keeper was tough, no limits were caught either day.
Wayne Thomley took big fish on day one( 3.21) and on day two Wayne Cox had big fish( 4.92 ).
It must have been a Wayne weekend because Wayne Cox also won the tournament with a total weight of 14.01 lbs.
This was the club's first trip to Demopolis, maybe we will go there for a future tournament in the springtime.
All in all, I think everyone enjoyed fishing the Tombigbee and the Warrior rivers.
