MINUTES OF THE MEETING
 

The November 2002 meeting of the Panhandle Bass Club was brought to order at 6:30 p.m. on November 6, 2002. The meeting was held at Founaris Brothers on Hwy 29 and was presided over by President Fred Raby.

OLD BUSINESS:

Congratulations to Frank Kelly and to Chris Malena for becoming our new Treasurer and Tournament Director. We know they will do a great job. The 2002 season ended at Millers Ferry with Fred Raby becoming the first Fisherman of the Year for the newly founded Panhandle Bass Club, congratulations Fred. Second place went to
Lee Brannon and tied for third was Mack Cramer and Chris Malena. Also, congratulations are in order to
Cliff Armstrong for winning the first ever PBC fish-off, Cliff had a winning weight of 11.26 pounds.
Great job guy's. Awards will be handed out at the December meeting.


NEW BUSINESS:

Four new members were voted into the Panhandle Bass Club, a big welcome to Wally Cassiano, Steve Graham, Troy Beedle and Frank Bost. If you have a guest fishing with you, please remember to either pay the $5.00 for them or have them put it in a envelope with their name on it if their in the big fish pot, and give it to the treasurer at the meeting. A reminder to all the members, come to the meetings with an appetite, in order for our club to hold the meetings at Founaris Brothers we need to order from the menu. It's a nice place, so let's try to keep it.
Also, for those who do not have a CB radio in their vehicle, it would be a good idea to install one, this way, if someone breaks down, and it could be you, you can call for help. Plus you can hear all the fish talk going back and fourth on the way home from the tournaments. Name calling even occurs once in a while, all in fun though.


November Tournament:
 

The November tournament was held out of Cliff's landing on the TensawRiver.There were 14 Panhandler's present to fish at safe daylight. The river was muddy and the water level was on the rise, especially on the Mobile side.
Some of the creeks had a little clearer water in the back, but for the most part, they were muddy also. The tide was outgoing and the water temp was around 63 degrees in most places. The bite was very slow, you almost had to hit them on the head to draw a strike and then it seemed the fish just didn't want the bait. Patience was a good thing that day. As always, one guy falls in it and comes out smelling better, one of the new members, Steve Graham, found the fish in the grass and was able to put a limit together, a seven fish limit i might add, he had the winning weight of 9.18 pounds. Great job Steve.
Since the club was formed back in May, 2002, this was the first time a seven fish limit was weighed in.
