OLD BUSINESS:

No old business was discussed. If you have not reserved a room for the upcoming 2-day tournaments, including the fishoff, please do so when you get a chance, better safe than sorry.

NEW BUSINESS:

Club Hats and shirts was mentioned at the meeting, Fred and Troy will do some research on these items and hopefully have some information for us at the next meeting. I think all of us would really like to get a club hat at least for now. A couple of items was auctioned off at the meeting, by our auctioneer Wally Cassiano, who does a great job by the way, a culling system and a fishermen plaque went to Walter McCartney.
No other items were in the auction. Hopefully more things will be up for grabs at the next meeting.

Special Note:

In an effort to support our military there were two actions made at our March meeting. First it was moved seconded and passed that we give Steve credit for the March tournament since he had paid at the meeting whether or not he was able to fish due to his deployment to Iraq. Second,it was moved to give special consideration to any military person on deployment and a waiver for all tournaments missed do to such deployment.
After the meeting a review of the Constitution was made with the following discovery. First, the motion for Steve was a mute point since our Constitution specifically gives credit to anyone in good standing who pays at the meeting to get credit for that tournament. Second, the motion for special consideration is in direct violation of our Constitution as it constitutes a change which can only be made at the October meeting. Therefore, both motions become mute and will not be incorporated into our operating procedures.
We all support our military and I appreciate the attitude that we give any military member recognition. These motions were made in good faith and in support of our members. I am proud of our concern in this area and I am glad we have the provision to give credit in accordance with our bylaws. We will continue to support our members and to abide by the Constitution our members have put into place.

Fred Raby, President

March Tournament:

We were suppose to launch out of Cliff's Landing but because of the high water we were forced to change the site.
We decided to launch out of Hurricane Landing. As it turned out, we all were very happy in the decision we made. The people that run Hurricane Landing were the nicest and most helpful people we have encountered at a launch site in a very long time.
I for one will be disappointed if the club does not utilize that ramp in the future.
We had 15 boats that morning which made for a nice tournament. Expectations for catching a limit that day didn't cross the minds of very many. I think just getting a bite was on the minds of most, considering the water conditions. Tensaw had the highest water level a lot of us had seen in years. Come weigh-in time, the scales told the tale, a total of ten fish was weighed in, caught by six different people. Some of the guys had mentioned that they hadn't had a bite all day. So congratulations to those who were fortunate enough to weigh fish in.
Maybe one of our scheduled tournaments in the future will bless us with better fishing conditions.
