OLD BUSINESS:
Once again we had a 50/50 raffle drawing at the beginning of the meeting, and once again the lucky winner was our club President, Fred Raby. If it happens again we will have to investigate the matter.
Wally Cassiano auctioned off some nice compact tool boxes, a line winder and a spinning reel.
Mack Cramer, Troy Beedle and Walter McCartney were the recipients. Thanks to the guys who brought the items in for the auction.
**NOTE**
Don't forget to bring your ticket stubs and money to the next meeting, the drawing is July 2nd.
If you do forget them you will have to go back and get them.
Most of the club members have their new hats and shirts, the rest will be available at the next meeting.
If you have not yet paid for your hat and shirt, please contact Fred Raby as soon as possible.
NEW BUSINESS:
Mack Cramer has started a golf ball draw in our club, the draw is held after the weigh-in at each tournament,
if you weigh in a keeper fish you will be eligible for the draw, It will cost one dollar. If you pull the yellow golf ball, you win the pot, if you pull the orange golf ball, you owe a dollar, if nobody pulls the yellow ball, it carries's over to the next tournament.
The members of the club need to be thinking about nominee's for next years E-board officers.
October is not that far off.
June Tournament:
This was the first Panhandle tournament out of Mt. Vernon landing, the ramp and parking conditions were just fine. South central Alabama had been hammered by torrential rain fall prior to the tournament, the run- off had swollen most creeks and the river was muddy to say the least.
Clear water could be found but it was still out in the woods in most places, witch made for some tough fishing. One day in the future, the river may be back to normal, but i wouldn't bet on it any time soon.
The rain had stopped by the time we got to the ramp and it actually cleared up somewhat, but some scattered showers moved in during mid morning causing the rain suits to be broken out, but they were brief.
Most everyone headed North to try and find some banks to fish but no luck, water everywhere.
Their were four people who were lucky enough to get a bite or two, the fish were caught on jigs, spinner baits, flukes and worms. It was one of those "hit'em in the head days".
Congratulations to Jere Jaillite for catching the big fish for the day and also winning a very tough tournament with two fish. His big fish weighed 3.64 lbs. His total was 4.81 lbs.
